The purpose for this establishment is to improve mining operations and production for artisanal miners in Zimbabwe by sourcing funds, mining equipment and expertise. In reciprocate, the investors will have access to mining ventures with the local people. Our expertise in Zimbabwe’s mining sector, combined with a commitment to ethical practices, positions us as a trusted partner for miners, investors, and other stakeholders. In 2025, YELLOWHANDS MINING & EXPLORATION (PRIVATE) LIMITED was established with the goal of bridging the gap between investors and claim owners who share the same vision of improving mining operations that benefits local communities and protect the environment. Acquiline
MINER
Dr. Acquiline Chimwanda (PhD holder), a seasoned gold artisanal miner from Midland’s province in Zimbabwe. She has over 15 years’ experience in gold mining industry working as an artisanal miner. Born and raised in Shurugwi town, a gold rich place where locals depend on gold mining for a livelihood. She witnessed the influence of mining on the local economy, observing both the opportunities and struggles faced by artisanal miners. Inspired by these observations, she entered the artisanal mining sector as a panner and gradually learned the skills needed to navigate the complexities of gold extraction.
The artisanal mining sector in Zimbabwe has its own problems, including fluctuating gold prices, access to mining equipment, and issues surrounding land rights. Dr Chimwanda has also been an advocate for the recognition of artisanal mining and to ensure that miners are given the resources, support, and acknowledgement they deserve. She has worked with other miners to push for reforms that better protect artisanal miners’ rights and improve the infrastructure that supports their work.
Apart from that, Dr Chimwanda has over five years’ experience working as Project Manager in the mining industry. With a strong background in Project Management, Monitoring and Evaluation she successfully implemented different mining operation projects particularly in the gold sector.
Started her career with a Post graduate diploma in Project Management, Monitoring and evaluation from Great Zimbabwe University, she gained skills and expertise in Project management. My experience spans across various critical mining roles from initial exploration, feasibility studies to the commissioning and operational phases.
She is also an accomplished Gold Plant Manager with over 3 years of experience. Dr Aquiline gained an experience in managing day-to-day operations of the plant. The ability to monitor production schedules, manage plant staff, and maintain high standards of safety helped to maximize output while minimizing environmental impact.
Beyond the technical expertise, she is also committed to workforce development and community engagement prioritizing employee training, mentorship, and capacity building, Additionally, Dr Chimwanda is involved in initiatives that promote sustainable mining practices and contribute to the broader socio-economic development of the local community.
